File extension partial information
The .PARTIAL suffix is a file extension that is associated with the utilities that are found in downloads and can also relate to incomplete or broken downloads. There are many download utilities that may fail to download completely and as a result, these downloads will store fragments of a file that is in the process of being downloaded to a file that bears this file extension. The file is then executed by the appropriate associated application or it may also be present normally in the appropriate application folder. This is done once the download is complete.
Cannot open partial files in Windows?
Not being able to open partial files in Windows may be a result of registry errors or not having the appropriate application installed. It is strongly recommended that you scan your computer for registry errors (free).A .PARTIAL file may not be necessary and one does not need to access it directly. Generally, a large number of download managers will store some of the downloaded parts to a file. These files should bear the file extension .PARTIAL; these are then combined with the other files when the download is complete. A .PARTIAL file on its own is basically useless as it has no significant value individually. Therefore, if one is looking to access the contents of the download, it should be complete for one to be able to open the file.
